ABOUT
Steven Whitson is a Nashville Recording Artist and Songwriter born and raised in the small town of Trimble in West Tennessee. His mother says Steven started singing at age three in church with the hymnal turned upside down and has been singing ever since.
Steven began writing and recording his own music when he was just sixteen. Subsequent projects have resulted in a collection of 14 Independent CD's. Whitson has opened for Rascal Flatts, Craig Morgan, Marty Stuart, and Aaron Tippin; just to name a few.
In 2003 Steven earned his degree in Church Music from Lambuth University in Jackson, TN and served as the Music Minister for Grace United Methodist Church in Jackson. He then moved to East Tennessee in 2007 where he lived for 3 years in Pigeon Forge and performed over 1,200 shows as the host/lead singer in the family variety "Tennessee Shindig" show.
Since 2010, Steven has made his home in Middle Tennessee. Where he's been giving "TURS" as he says to bus groups and Nashville visitors. For his first 10 years he spent time as Host/Tour Guide/Mansion Manager at the Fontanel Mansion, former 27,000 square foot log home of Country Legend; Barbara Mandrell. Steven now owns Noteworthy Tours giving private VIP style tours from a local singer/songwriters perspective. The tours are now rated #1 out of 297 Nashville activities on TripAdvisor.
In the Fall of 2012, Steven had a producer from LA on one of his "TURS." This meeting resulted in Steven making his national television debut on the "Marie Osmond Show," on the Hallmark Channel. Steven has also had the honor to watch and learn from his mentor, "Little Miss Dynamite," Brenda Lee.
Steven is often asked the question, "When are you going to 'make it'?"...Whitson says he has "made it," because he is happy and is able to make a living doing what he loves to do.
Steven attributes his success to God, the loving support of his parents Ricky and Kathy Whitson, and to his loyal following of fans called the "Believers." If it weren't for all of them, "Believin' in Steven," Steven's dream would never have become a reality.
